Hormone Balance & Endocrinology

Patients with unexplained weight gain/loss, fatigue, hair loss, low libido, dry skin, anxiety, or depression, might be suffering from a hormonal deficiency which can be alleviated with the right supplements and treatment plan. After taking a history of the patient’s symptoms, performing a physical and reviewing a patient’s recent lab values, our practitioner will discuss with the patient the best course of action to help the patient reach optimal wellness.

HORMONES & THE ENDOCRINE SYSTEM

The endocrine system is a network of glands that produce, store and secrete chemicals called hormones that enable the body to function optimally. Hormones are the body’s chemical messengers and maintain the body’s internal balance (homeostasis).

The endocrine system is responsible for the following functions:

  • the body’s growth and development
  • sleep, mood and emotions
  • hunger and metabolism
  • energy levels and heart rate
  • sex drive and reproduction
  • the body’s response to stimuli (stress, diet, injury, etc.)

HORMONE IMBALANCE

Male and female hormone levels can change and get out of balance due to a variety of reasons including the natural aging process, chronic stress, poor sleep or diet and everyday exposure to toxins and endocrine disruptors. When hormones are in proper balance, the body is able to function optimally. However even minor disruptions to hormones and the endocrine system can cause serious, life-altering symptoms. Furthermore, because the endocrine system is so intertwined, one hormonal imbalance can easily lead to an additional imbalance and more severe symptoms.

Diagnosis

In order to create the correct diagnosis and most comprehensive wellness protocol, we order extensive blood panels designed to fully assess the functional status of the body and the underlying cause of disease.

We measure DHEA, cortisol, testosterone, full spectrum thyroid hormones, progesterone, and estrogen. Depending on the severity of systems, we also recommend testing for adrenal function, food intolerances, micronutrients and heavy metals.

Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) replenishes the hormones your body needs to function by matching them molecule by molecule. Because bio-identical hormones are precise duplications of the hormones the body naturally produces, BHRT is considered a safer, more effective option than conventional hormone treatments.

We offer bio-identical hormone treatments for Thyroid, Testosterone, Menopause and Semorelin (HGH). In addition to pills and injection therapy, we offer pellet insertion.
